DAILY ROUTINE FOR CLARINET
Every clarinetist should have a daily routine in some form. This is a series of methodical exercises that we do to build control of the instrument that goes beyond just long tones. The specific exercises contained in the routine can change periodically but every routine should cover these elements:
-
Long tones or range flexibility across registers
-
finger “noodles” with metronome
-
scales
-
staccato exercises
Here are some daily exercises I do in addition to standard exercises from Baermann, Langenus, Opperman, etc.
